At Ericson’s Photography, you might have noticed a heart in our logo. It is not just a design choice, it is personal. Today, we want to share why that heart matters.
Our son, John Robert, was born in 2019 with a congenital heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). In those early days, we faced moments that tested us beyond words. We were fortunate, his surgeries and care were shorter than some families endure, but it changed us forever.

John Robert is now six years old and thriving. While his journey is not over as he will need more heart surgeries in the future, we face it with the same love and hope that inspired that heart in our logo.
In 2019, our lives were suddenly filled with hospital visits, uncertainty and learning what it truly meant to take life one day at a time. We met other families whose children were fighting even longer and more complicated battles than ours. It changed how we look at time, milestones and the moments that often go unnoticed.
As photographers, we began to understand that every smile, every hug and every celebration carries more meaning than we once realized. The heart in our logo became more than a symbol for our family. It became a reminder of why preserving those moments matters.
That heart is a daily reminder of resilience, of love and of the precious moments we capture for families like yours. Every family has a story and part of ours is this journey with John Robert.
As we honor Heart Awareness Week, we wanted to share this part of our story. That little heart in our logo is a symbol that means so much to our family. It is also why we put all of our heart into capturing your moments, your stories and seeing all the personal growth along the way.
